Le Metalbest est un joint d’étanchéité avec un cœur
de métal ondulé et deux surfaces en graphite flexible.
Il combine les excellentes propriétés d’étanchéité du
graphite flexible avec la résistance à l’extrusion du métal
ondulé. Il est aussi idéal pour maintenir une étanchéité
positive à travers les cycles thermiques et les effets
de choc. Le matériel régulier de fabrication du cœur
de métal est l’acier inoxydable 316 à une épaisseur de
0.080”. Ce joint d’étanchéité gagne en popularité dans
le marché pour les brides ASME B16.5, classes 150 et
300 lbs, grâce à sa capacité de sceller même à faible
pression sur les boulons.
This Metalbest gasket as a corrugated metal
core with flexible graphite facings. It combines
the sealing properties of the flexible graphite
with the extrusion resistance of the corrugated
metal core. It is designed to maintain a positive
seal through thermal cycling and shock load
conditions. The standard material for the metal
core is 316 Stainless Steel to a thickness of
0.080”. This gasket has gained popularity in the
marketplace in Class 150 and 300 ASME B16.5
flanges due to its ability to seal at low bolt loads.

Le style 923 est un joint d’étanchéité possédant un
intérieur mou et souple enrobé d’une enveloppe de métal.
Il est utilisé comme joints de bride dans la tuyauterie, dans
les échangeurs de chaleur et dans les réacteurs de grande
taille des usines chimiques.
The style 923 is a flat double jacket gasket made of
a soft pliable core inside a metallic jacket. Its most
typical applications are as pipe flange gaskets and in
heat exchangers. It is also used in large size reactors
in chemical plants.

Semblable au style 923, mais fabriqué avec du ruban de
graphite flexible ondulé de chaque côté. Cette construction
accroît l’étanchéité, spécifiquement sur les brides endom-
magées par des outils ou par d’autres petites irrégularités.
Le graphite flexible comble ces irrégularités et, du même
coup, augmente l’étanchéité.
Similar to the 923 style gasket but it is made with a
flexible graphite corrugated tape on each side. This cover
increases the gasket sealability, especially if the flange
sealing surfaces have pitting, tool marks or other small
irregularities. The flexible graphite fills these irregularities
and, in turn, increases the sealing.
