HEAT EXCHANGER STYLE 923

The term heat exchanger in most processe industries is referred to as the «shell and tube heat exchanger». As the name implies, it is equiped with a «shell» and a bundle of «tubes». One of the fluids flows inside the shell and outside the tubes and the other fluids inside the tubes.

The style 923 is a flat double jacket gasket. Its most typical applications are as pipe flange gaskets and in heat exchangers. The standard thickness is 1/8” inch. This gasket is also used in large size reactors in chemical plants. The standard filler is flexible graphite.
