3R856B

Rubber

The 3R856B is a high quality Viton® grade B rubber meeting the most stringent requirements of the chemical industry. It offers excellent resistance to aggressive mineral acids such as sulfuric, nitric and hydrochloric acids. The 3R856B offers better resistance to chemicals such as oils, fuels, lubricants and mineral oils than commercial grade 3R856 rubber. It is more resistant to aging and retains its flexibility better. It also offers additional temperature resistance up to 232°C (450°F).

Applications

The composition of the 3R856B is designed to provide superior performance in sealing applications in the presence of aggressive acids. It is recommended for applications requiring maximum retention of elastic properties associated with good mechanical properties. It is also ideal for outdoor use. The 3R856B is highly resistant to sulfur dioxide and is therefore suitable for use in power generation plants such as fossil fuel combustion and natural gas processing plants.
