3R 4600
CERAMIC BOARD

ISO 9001 : 2000 Certified

The 3R 4600 is a rigid, self-supporting high temperature vacuum formed board. This product offers excellent thermal conductivity, strength and thermal stability at elevated temperatures and has the capability to withstand chemical attack. Exceptions include hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalis.

The 3R 4600 using high alumina fibers along with ceramic fibers, is an excellent dimensionally stable product at 2600°F (1427ºC) where minimal shrinkage is very important.

Applications //

Appliance and heat processing insulation, back up in steel ladle and torpedo cars, back up insulation to dense refractories, bullnose tiles, burner blocks, combustion chamber construction, expansion joint material, flue and chimney linings, furnace components, furnace door linings, furnace, kiln and oven hot face linings, general molten metal contact, glass coffin walls, glass regenerator insulation, glass tank side, end wall and port neck, glass tank wall and port neck insulation, heat shields, high temperature gaskets and seals, high mechanical stress areas, kiln furniture, peep door frames and plugs, trough linings in contact with aluminum and shapes in ammonia reformers.

A small amount of combustible organic binder will burn out at approximately 300ºF. Caution should be exercised during the initial heating. Adequate ventilation should be provided to avoid potential flash ignition of the binder out-gassing and to avoid air entry while at elevated temperature.
